DNA Engineering 1. Synthetic DNA Construction Our Unique Patented Technology: Serum has developed its own unique and patented technology for constructing synthetic strands of DNA. This technology allows us to select only the exact DNA coding points we require without having any unwanted DNA material in our selected working strand. This means that we can create precisely designed recombinant proteins which are accurately tailored to our exact requirements for the production of genetic raw material for new, more effective recombinant pharmaceuticals. New, More Effective Products Our technology also gives us the ability to readily design and create chimeric (fused) molecules of DNA expressing the characteristics of two entirely different proteins in a single chain or even expressing only the active centers of the proteins. For example we can create a new, unique protein possessing the characteristics of both erythropoietin which increases red blood cell counts in humans and GM-CSF which increases white blood cell counts. Thus a new drug combining both these properties would be immensely valuable in the treatment of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy for example. Superior Quality and Reduced Production Costs Our technology make it possible to create new and more target specific recombinant pharmaceuticals which have an increased and precise level of focus which until now could not be achieved. Our ongoing research (actual repeated laboratory experiments and tests) shows that our proteins have a much greater biological activity (potency) per unit that anything else presently available, and that the yield of these proteins under normal production conditions is several times greater than current standards. This translates into more potent (superior quality) pharmaceutical raw material which can be produced in greater quantities under normal conditions, in other words, better quality products at lower production costs. Patentable Products Virtually all of the products derived from our technology are patentable and the ones that may not be are of better quality and less cost than their competitors so they can command the general market anyway. The overall commercial value of this is quite significant. 2. DNA Cloning We can clone DNA in practically any type of vector for analysis and expression that any client may require. We can do this utilizing any of the following techniques. * Restrictive Enzyme Cloning * Topo Cloning * Gateway Cloning 3. Expression Vector Construction We construct various types of expression vectors according to the needs of any client. * Construction of Mammalian Expression Vectors * Construction of Bacterial Expression Vectors * Construction of Insect Expression Vectors 4. Gene Therapy Virus Construction We create various types of viruses for use in Gene Therapy. We work with both Adenoviruses and Lentiviruses for Gene Therapy Procedures and for high level expression procedures. |
